The New York Post ran a story on Sunday that reads as if Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model and Actress (Just Go With It) star Brooklyn Decker was being “heckled” by journalists at the U.S. Open.
Here’s what the NY Post‘s Marc Berman reported:
“Model / actress Brooklyn Decker had a tougher time of it early yesterday at the U.S. Open than her husband, Andy Roddick, who whipped fellow Nebraskan Jack Sock in straight sets.
Decker was incognito in a long, big sweatshirt as she waited alone for Roddick outside the president’s gate at 12:45 a.m. yesterday.
Suddenly, Decker started getting heckled by a group of impatient journalists who were on the last media bus and thought Decker was holding them up.
The journalists screamed repeatedly at Decker: “Hurry up and get on the bus,” not realizing she was Roddick’s famous wife and not with the media. Decker, who appeared to be embarrassed..”
But the story is wrong, and the person who say it is, is none other than Brooklyn Decker herself. On Twitter, Decker, at @BrooklynDDecker sent a tweet to The Big Lead. This one:
@BrooklynDDecker Brooklyn Decker
@TheBigLead errr…. Wasn’t me.. Was at a wedding in NC. But why let the truth get in the way of a good story?
And why would Decker lie about that?
What’s more, the NY Post story, as of this writing, remains up on the news organization’s website, uncorrected.
After all, why let the truth get in the way of a good story? Especially one that’s trending on Google Trends, right?
Stay tuned.
