Alex Morgan’s going from from fill-in front-line replacement for teammate Lauren Cheney, to World Cup Final hero, if this score held. Just as I was writing the blog post, it didn’t hold.

But even so Alex Morgan became a Twitter trending topic, along with the hastag #worldcupfinal and now, Japan.

USA Defense Slips

Confusion in the USA Defense allowed a sudden and shocking goal score from Japan. Hope Solo leaped to block, but it was just short. Rats!

Now, where it looked like the USA was home free, this 2011 Women’s World Cup Soccer game is a nail-biter.
