The United States Women’s soccer team has not been to the FIFA World Cup Finals since 1991, and today the USA will compete against Japan. The game is about to start right now on ESPN (channel 206 for Directv users), and this game is the final one! This is a very big deal.
The game takes place in Frankfurt, Germany as have all the games. FIFA.com reports:
“The FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™ comes to a conclusion on Sunday, with two-time world champions USA bidding to complete a hat-trick of titles against the technically accomplished Japanese, who are making their first appearance in the Final and have yet to record a win against the Americans.”
This is going to be a very tight game. Dennis Rose will do a follow up post with the results tonight.
