LeAna Powell was a staff member in the Office of Oakland District 4 Councilmember Sheng Thao. Sheng Thao and her aides Chief of Staff Renia Webb, and aide Brandon Harami worked to intimidate and harass Powell into working on Sheng’s run for Mayor of Oakland. Now, Powell has a near-two-years old active Public Ethics Commission Investigation that one source told me led the PEC to inform the FBI, which allegedly triggered the June 21, 2024 raid on Mayor Thao’ home.
Here, Powell talks about how she came to work for Sheng, and the tension between Webb and Harami , because Brandon was seasoned and Webb was new to the role.
