The new logo for the much-anticipated and talked about Superman: Man Of Steel movie was released just hours ago, and already it’s taking the Internet by storm. As this is written “Man Of Steel” is a Twitter trends, and terms used to describe it are “dark,” but I will employ another one: “horrifying.”
Why?
Take a close look at the logo. The color is not just dark red, it’s the same hue as the color of your blood. Yes, it’s blood red. It’s one more sign this Superman movie’s going to be about sex and violence. The signal that it was going to be about sex was sent when we were given photos of Henry Cavill in a costume such that Movieweb said he was showing off a “Superman Bulge” and caused a stir with people I interviewed at DragonCon in Atlanta, here:
And now we have this logo, not much different in its “raised” design from the 2006 Superman Movie logo, but in color scheme, blood red.
Remember, this Superman 2013 is being directed by the same person who gave us the cult classic 300, Zack Synder. In 300, killing scenes were regularly up close, in slow motion, and bloody.
