The 2012 London Olympics is history, but not so much that we can’t look back and gain a better understanding of who was tops in social media during the event. An infographic developed by Banyan Branch.com provides what just may be the definitive breakdown of social media stars at the UK presentation of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
The stars were Michael Phelps, Usan Bolt, and Gabrielle Douglas, and in order of the “most talked about” athletes. (You mean Hope Solo wasn’t in the top three?) Meanwhile, the most talked about brands were Coca-Cola, Proctor and Gamble, and VISA. But here, this blogger has to take issue with that report, because NBC is also a brand, and from its gaffe with the livestream system, to its mishandling of Gabby Douglas, NBC, and NBC Olympics was a highly talked about brand – I would bet more so than any of the three mentioned here. Keep that in mind.
