Can History Repeat For The Ravens?

The Baltimore Ravens are taking full advantage of their bye week to rest, recover and regroup. The football gods were kind to them by scheduling the bye at the half way point of the season.

While they entered the bye with a winning record of 5-2, they have been battling many issues this season including injuries to star defensive players and a less than stellar offensive line.

The good news is that under head coach John Harbaugh, the Ravens are undefeated after a bye week with a margin of victory of 18 points. They also haven’t lost back-to-back games since 2009 thanks to quarterback Joe Flacco. Historically Flacco plays better after bye weeks.

We can only hope history repeats itself…

BaltimoreRavens.com’s Ryan Mink said that following a loss, Flacco has completed 278 of 434 passes (64.1 percent completion rate) for 3,508 yards, 22 touchdowns and four interceptions with a quarterback rating of 102.2.

This season the Ravens’ offense has struggled to put points on the board.

Wide receiver Torrey Smith spoke about the offense’s ability to turn things around:

“There are going to be ups and downs – and the downs are going to be some very, very low times – so you just have to be able to bounce back, and that’s how you become great.”

I hope that history repeats itself and that they can pull off a win in Cleveland next week. They desperately needed the break to recover and regroup, hopefully it pays off.
