#StopLyingCNN Anti-CNN Social Media Campaign Hits Twitter Trend, But

The Turkish protestor-produced campaign called #StopLyingCNN was successful in that it made the hashtag #StopLyingCNN a Twitter Trend, but there’s a problem.

The problem is that it’s so insular and in Turkish, that, to this point in time, no American news website or blog has written about it, until now.

So, because #StopLyingCNN is in our face, for those who use Twitter, because its a trend, we want to know what the issue is. The tweets are in broken English, or another language, so they don’t help, because even when that tweet is translated, it comes out in, yep, broken English.

You have to know the story to know why #StopLyingCNN is relevant and successful.

So, if you don’t, your next move is to do what I just did: I tuned in to CNN.

The point? #StopLyingCNN is actually helping CNN get noticed.

I guess the point is that the protestors are attacking the police, but it would be nice to know what CNN telecast set this rather ill-designed, but well-executed distribution plan afoot?

Stay tuned.
