Records smashed on East Coast’s warmest ever Christmas Eve

Through 3 p.m., Washington, D.C. had reached at least 71 degrees, passing the record high of 69 from 1933. Amazingly, Baltimore broke its record high for the date at midnight, when the temperature was 66 degrees. Since then, it has warmed to 71 degrees.
