Amanda Bynes In Mental Hospital After Starting Fire, Burning Dog: Update

amanda-bynes-wig-in-courtAmanda Bynes was arrested yesterday, and placed in a mental hospital after she started a small fire in the front yard of an elderly woman she did not know in Thousand Oaks, California. In the process, the actress in such films as Easy A, accidentally set fire to her dog.

According to MTV, Amanda Bynes set the fire, said to have been five-feet tall, in front of the home of Bonnie Braaten. Bonnie Braaten said “I have no idea what she was doing. I don’t even think she has an idea what she was doing.” Braaten’s neighbor, Bruno Corsi put out the fire.

Reports are that Bruno Corsi saw “a bunch of teenage kids who were trying to stop the fire, and then saw a woman with “long blonde hair … sitting on the sidewalk.” Amanda Bynes has been spotted lately wearing a long blonde wig.

Some of the bystanders who witnessed what happened tried to stop Amanda, but she was working to get a cab to take care of her slightly burned dog, saying “My dog has been burned, please let go of me, I’m going to call 911.”

Several 9-11 calls were made, and Amanda was eventually taken by California’s sheriff’s deputies and placed on an “involuntary 72-hour psychiatric hold
,” and where she’s said to be doing “well.”

According to TMZ.com, no charges will be filed against her.
