This 2013 Mock Draft was produced by Peter Clarke, and I thought I’d share it here at Zennie62. As a note, this is exclusive to Zennie62.com, and can’t be found anywhere else:
Pick | Team | Name | School | Position | Analysis
| Kansas City Chiefs | Luke Joeckel | Texas A&M | OT | Chiefs are definitely picking a OT, just depends on if they trade Albert or not, if they don’t Fisher maybe the pick, but I think they’ll get a deal done before draft time
| Jacksonville Jaguars | Dion Jordan | Oregon | OLB | A lot of people speculating that they could take whichever OT KC doesn’t take, but I think Jordan’s speed will fit what they want to do down there, they DESPERATELY need a pass rusher
| Oakland Raiders | Shariff Floyd | Florida | DT | The Raiders can use just about anything here, Floyd has been said they be somewhat of a media creation, but it’s the Raiders, so does ANYONE really know what they are going to do?
| Philadelphia Eagles | Eric Fisher | Central Michigan | OT | If Fisher is still here, he’s the definite pick, if he is gone, I can see them taking Star Lotulelei, I hear they are very high on him
| Detroit Lions | Ezekial Ansah | BYU | DE | Once again, if either of the top 2 OTs fall, they can go here, but with Vandenbosch slowing down and the loss of Avril, DE is an important need here
| Cleveland Browns | DeMarcus Milliner | Alabama | CB | The Browns LOVE Milliner and combine him with Haden and you have arguably the best young CB duo in the league
| Arizona Cardinals | Star Lotulelei | Utah | DT | Most people expect the next best OL out of Arizona, but I hear they REALLY like Star and they think their line was above average for the 2nd half of last yr
| Buffalo Bills | Ryan Nassib | Syracuse | QB | The new coach of Buffalo, Marrone, take his college QB. With no QB standing out this yr, teams will just take the QB they want, no matter where the pick is
| New York Jets | Barkevious Mingo | LSU | OLB | Jets want to help their offensive line and they need a pass rusher, they use their 1st of their 2 1st rd picks to fill 1 of those needs
| Tennessee Titans | DJ Fluker | Alabama | G | As a Titans fan, I’m not sure about this pick, but I do know football is won between the lines and Tennessee really needed to upgrade their o-line
| San Diego Chargers | Lane Johnson | Oklahoma | OT | OL to SD has been 1 of the most popular picks of any mock you will see out there. Getting Lane Johnson would be huge as some think he has the highest ceiling of the top 3 OTs
| Miami Dolphins | Xavier Rhodes | Florida State | CB | A little over a yr ago, the Dolphins had Vontae Davis and Sean Smith as their starting CBs, both on no longer here, I think this is a place to start rebuilding that position
| New York Jets | Chance Warmack | Alabama | G | Jets fill their 2nd part of their needs. They have numerous other needs and I hear they like Austin from West Virginia, but I’m not a fan of that pick if they went that way
| Carolina Panthers | Kenny Vaccaro | Texas | S | I hear Carolina has 4 guys they like, Vacarro, Richardson, Austin, or Rhodes. Safety is probably the biggest immediate need of the 4
| New Orleans Saints | Sheldon Richardson | Missouri | DT | The Saints need an upgrade to their line. Richardson has top 10 talent and because of needs and reaches, he could fall to them
| St Louis Rams | Tavon Austin | West Virginia | WR | St Louis lost Amendola, so taking another short, fast, slot type WR fits them. I think Austin is being overhyped as a possible top 10 pick, but mid 1st rd is a better landing spot
| Pittsburgh Steelers | Tyler Eifert | Notre Dame | TE | With Heath Miller coming off a serious injury and them losing Mike Wallace, the Steelers need to get some weapons for Big Ben
| Dallas Cowboys | Sylvester Williams | UNC | DT | Hearing that Dallas really likes him and if he is there he will be their pick to try to eventually replace Jay Ratliff
| New York Giants | Jarvis Jones | Georgia | DE/OLB | Giants love pass rushers and their pass rush was a disapointment last year. Tuck is on his last leg, JPPP had a bad year, and Osi is no longer there
| Chicago Bears | Jonathan Cooper | UNC | G | Cooper takes the big fall of the big 3 OGs. The bears could stick him in there day 1 to improve their offensive line
| Cincinnati Bengals | Jonathan Cyprien | Florida International | S | Has been a popular mock pick to Cincy and they had him in for a private workout this week, which normally means he’s a serious contender for their pick
| St Louis Rams | Geno Smith | West Virginia | QB | I don’t think St Louis will take a QB, however, if there is a spot where I can see a team trading up to take a Geno Smith or Matt Barkley, its right here
| Minnesota Vikings | DeAndre Hopkins | Clemson | WR | The Vikings have to get some weapons at WR before teams put 9 in the box every play. Hopkins is rated as the next best WR in the draft, allthough, I’m not high on ANY of the WRs this yr
| Indianapolis Colts | Cordarelle Patterson | Tennessee | WR | In my opinion, Paterson is the best offensive playmaker in the draft, however he has questionable hands and he probably should have better number than he did with Bray throwing him the ball
| Minnesota Vikings | Bjoern Werner | Florida State | DE | Most people think the Vikings with go DT here. They like Sylvester Williams, but with him gone, I expect them to take a slipping Werner. He will make their pass rush deadly with Allen on the other side
| Green Bay Packers | Datone Jones | UCLA | DE | The Packers offense is the last thing that needs help, I expect GB to go defense and to get more tough. Jones is a 3-4 DE than maybe able to help their line immediately
| Houston Texans | Keenan Allen | California | WR | Allen doesn’t stand out to me, but he is a solid WR and he will be an upgrade over what Houston has had the past few yrs with Kevin Walter
| Denver Broncos | Tank Carradine | Florida State | DE | Tank is arguably, when healthy, the best DE in this entire draft. With the lose of Elvis Dumervil, they need someone to get some pass rush
| New England Patriots | DJ Hayden | Houston | CB | Talib was only re-signed to a 1 yr deal and the Pats need help in their secondary anyway. Hayden is a rising guy that could be a long term action if Talib isnt back after 2013
| Atlanta Falcons | Desmond Trufant | Washington | CB | Probably the best man to man cover in the draft. With the Falcons letting go of both of their starting CBs, this is an obvious need
| San Franciso 49ers | Eric Reid | LSU | S | Reid is an extremely talented S that needs some discipline, what better place for him to go than under a Harbaugh? The loss of Golson also makes this a need pick
| Baltimore Ravens | Manti Teo’ | Notre Dame | ILB | The conerstone’s of Baltimore for yrs was Ed Reed and Ray Lewis, both are now gone and the 2 main pks that come to mind are Matt Elam and Manti Teo’, I think they go with the latter |
