College is expensive, and now more than ever.

Still, the cost of a college degree in no way reduces its importance. Having a college degree from a known, accredited institution places one in the competitive game for landing employment. And it’s a game, as some employers use such things as your major and even your grade point average as determinants for employment.

1) The average cost of a four-year degree from a state school is $30,000.
2) Student loans leave college graduates an average of $20,000 in debt.
3) Only half of all college graduate obtained a full-time job in 2011.
