Second Mass Shooting In Three Days In California – Why And What’s Going On?
Half Moon Bay has just experienced a mass shooting where seven people’s lives were taken. Seven people killed, 1 injured with life-threatening injuries in shooting, San Mateo County Sheriff Office confirmed. A reportedly 67-year-old suspect in custody named Zhao Chunli.
Just two days before that another mass shooting took the lives of 11 people in Monterey Park – that was done by
California Governor Gavin Newsom just tweeted: “At the hospital meeting with victims of a mass shooting when I get pulled away to be briefed about another shooting. This time in Half Moon Bay. Tragedy upon tragedy.”
Rep. Eric Swalwell, California Congressman, tweets: “Yet again, our community is faced with another mass shooting— this time cutting seven lives short in Half Moon Bay. I’m keeping the victims and their families in my thoughts, but we are far beyond “thoughts and prayers. We need gun safety reforms NOW.”
In total, there have been 207 mass shootings in the last 72 hours, alone. That’s almost three mass shootings per hour. What’s going on? Most would say it is due to the lack of effective gun laws. But my question is what’s encouraging people to consider gun violence to start with?
Mass shooters overwhelmingly fit a certain profile, say Jillian Peterson, an associate professor of criminology at Hamline University, and James Densley, a professor of criminal justice at Metro State University, which means it’s possible to ID and treat them before they commit violence.
They say that there’s this really consistent pathway. In Politico, they claim that “Early childhood trauma seems to be the foundation, whether violence in the home, sexual assault, parental suicides, extreme bullying. Then you see the build toward hopelessness, despair, isolation, self-loathing, oftentimes rejection from peers. That turns into a really identifiable crisis point where they’re acting differently. Sometimes they have previous suicide attempts.”
But I think there’s something more.

Zennie62Blog.com : this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a YouTube channel. When the video is “liked” by Zennie62 YouTube, then it is automatically uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Zennie62Blog.com site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective here, on top of our is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours – is the use of the existing YouTube social graph on any subject in the World. Now, news is reported with a smartphone and also by promoting current content on YouTube: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, or having a camera crew to shoot what is already on YouTube. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
