Hope Solo Arrested: Leigh Steinberg, Sports Agent Interview Hope Solo Arrested: Leigh Steinberg, Sports Agent Interview
Hope Solo was arrested for alleged domestic violence Saturday morning in Kirkland, Washington, and after throwing what police there said was a raging party. A party that saw Hope Solo be accused of hitting her half-sister Terry and Terry’s son, Solo’s half-nephew.
I was curious to know how a sports agent / lawyer would handle this problem if Hope Solo was his or her client, so I turned to my friend, the legendary Leigh Steinberg for answers.
Leigh Steinberg has represented 150 clients, and his record of representing 8 of the NFL Draft Number One Picks still stands unchallenged to this day. Leigh brings 40 years of experience to bear to our long, half-hour, conversation.
Leigh Steinberg said that the first order of business was to make a statement for his client as soon as possible. That did not happen for Hope; the matter started that morning, and she was already in jail, and without bail – and no statement – when we started our talk.
Will Hope Solo lose her sponsors “When something like this happens,” Leigh said,” a morals clause is in each agreement.” Steinberg says that it all depends on how those clauses are written. If one just calls for the sponsor to pull just because she was arrested, then there’s a problem, otherwise, perhaps not.
But Leigh made it clear Hope Solo was in a real pickle of a situation that would be hard to get out of.
Donald Sterling Being Controlled By Lawyers
Leigh Steinberg and I then turned to talk about Donald Sterling. Mr. Steinberg thinks this is the end of the line for Sterling, and he’s on his way out of the NBA. Leigh thinks his lawsuit will fail, giving an interesting answer that makes for must-see-video.
Stay tuned. http://ift.tt/1lgk1hu
