According to the Center For Disease Control, Lyme Disease rates are up 10 times what they have been assumed to be in past reports. But what is Lyme Disease?

The CDC reports that:

Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected blacklegged ticks. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system. Lyme disease is diagnosed based on symptoms, physical findings (e.g., rash), and the possibility of exposure to infected ticks;

You can help get involved in the fight against Lyme Disease by coming to the Bay Area Lyme Foundation’s annual event “Polo For Lyme.”

Polo For Lyme features a Polo match, and a concert by the legendary band Pride and Joy. The MC for the event is Cece Sammy, and it will be held at the Menlo Circus Club, 190 Park Lane in Atherton, Ca.
