PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, March 24 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approving street names and home colors for the Alameda Landing development and a revised design for a planned emergency operations center on Grand Street. The board will also review and comment on a draft plan to control traffic to and from future development at Alameda Point.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will receive updates on efforts to create a facilities master plan and on distribution of highly qualified teachers. Staff will also offer information about the new state funding formula, called the local control funding formula, and assumptions that will be used to allocate money to school sites. The board will also consider a request from member Barbara Kahn to change the board’s policy on physical education to make it the required second year of it an elective under certain circumstances.

PUBLIC ART COMMISSION
