San Bernardino County Had iPhone Unlock Tech But Did Not Use It

You read that correctly. San Bernardino County has a mobile device management system installed on Syed Farook’s iPhone but did not activate the technology to remove the data on his smartphone!

The service wasn’t expensive either: just $4 per month per phone to use. The phone belonged to the County and was given to Farook for use.

Apple has refused to make special software to open that iPhone – but with this news, it would seem San Bernardino County can turn elsewhere for help.
