After being eliminated from Dancing With The Stars tonight, U.S. Soccer Star Hope Solo became the first contestant not to go directly on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live talk show that evening. Instead, the three DWTS finalists – JR Martinez, Ricki Lake, and Rob Kardashian – went on the show.
And what’s most notable is that not one person said anything about Hope. A continuation of a habit that has, in this space’s view, infected the show. For some reason DWTS PR has arranged it so that Hope isn’t mentioned on Monday’s The View, or Jimmy Kimmel, and this has happened many times in one way or another.
Something happened. It’s a certainty that Hope knew about the common practice of Kimmel being the last stop. Perhaps both she and dancing partner Maksim Chemerovsky were too upset to go on Jimmy Kimmel. Or maybe ABC, concerned about Dancing With The Stars ratings, pushed them off coming on the show for fear that they would bad-mouth it considering how terribly Hope was treated.
