School Gunman At DeKalb County, GA School, 19 Years Old, Shot At Police #McNairShooting

According to DeKalb County Chief Cedric Alexander via Channel Two News here in Georgia, the gunman was white, 19 years old, and was armed with an AK47 and other weapons, and dressed in black,

The as yet unidentified gunman fired at police officers. He had one or two school staff members held captive inside, but he got no further than the front office, and not to any classroom.

The police officers returned fire – surrendered when the officers found him alone, by himself. The police officers secured the school then SWAT, FBI and other law enforcement checked the gunman’s can and the police dogs found something – it’s suspected that there were explosives in the car. The police officers cut a hole in a nearby fence, and to get the kids through a field to get them away from the explosives and on to buses – there were no injuries.

That is what we know – car is still under investigation. From DeKalb County Chief Cedric Alexander. Took possession of AK-47 – he fired about six shots at police from inside the school. They suspect gunman walked into school behind someone authorized to be there.

The school’s faculty was said to have done a great job, and kept kids calm. Meanwhile, the gunman was said to have told police “Sorry – I am off my meds.”
