Oakland police name officer in shooting of man allegedly armed with knife

OAKLAND — The police officer who last week shot and wounded an Oakland man armed with a knife was identified Wednesday as an 8-year veteran who is trained on how to respond to situations with emotionally or mentally unstable people, authorities said.
