Oakland Coliseum Future Should Be Sports And Events
When the Oakland A’s move to their new stadium in 2023, and if the Oakland Raiders do indeed move to Las Vegas, and with the Warriors off to San Francisco, Oakland faces the prospect of no sports teams at the Coliseum.
What should be done is to keep the Coliseum and upgrade it to solve our M.I.C.E problem: Meerings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events.
If the Coliseum is torn down it can’t get sports teams or esports events. It can’t host events or create its own.
Oakland must get out of the idea that the latest developer of the day is the way to go: having a planned future to shore up our weaknesses in M.I.C.E. is the key.
