Hope Solo got just what she needed before Monday’s start of Dancing With The Stars 2011: a rap serenade from Professional Soccer Player and Sporting Kansas City rookie forward C.J. Sapong, who also goes by @BigAfrika88 on Twitter.
Solo, the famous and beautiful USA Women’s U.S. national team star goalkeeper who’s making her dancing debut on Dancing With The Stars, is in Kansas City for a friendly soccer game against Canada (7 p.m. ET, Fox Soccer). As Solo was making the rounds meetings and greeting Sporting KC players, C.J. man’s up, takes the initiative, and introduces himself.
Now keep in mind, Sapong does this with people watching and camcorders running, and cameras clicking. Then, after talking about his body / fat percentage, he starts awkwardly into a rap he said he created for her. And since he was a bit nervous, C.J. started to forget some of his lyrics, but was still rocking it.
Then, he stopped and said “I’m starting all over,” but, and you can see this from the video, Hope had already remembered one of his lyrics, and said it, with the hand signs. “Oh. You remembered?! He said.” So now Sapong’s found his grove, and put it into another gear.
After a boyish jump, Sapona sets his feet, and nails a great rap serenade, saying (including the words I could clearly hear) “Hope, I heard you were coming to KC. Feelings can’t express the words that I felt inside of me… Hope Solo, Hope Solo, can you make my dream come true? There are no beaches in KC, but a hug from you will do.”
Hope says (and I’m not kidding) “Come in baby. Come on in,” and gives him a big hug, and then to his surprise, a kiss. Then walks away. (Man! The sneak kiss. I’ve had those, too. What that means is if she stuck around after she kisses you, it would be on, so she’d better walk away before she loses control.)
Later on Twitter, Mr. Sapong / @BigAfrika88 tweets this to Hope:
@hopesolo Hope you enjoyed your rap! Thanks for listening! Oh and thanks for the hug and kiss ;) #HopeSoloHopeSolo

And the rap song is marked with the Twitter hash tag #hopesolohopesolo.
Which reminds me, just who is Hope Solo’s boyfriend?
Hope’s been out and about, and traveling a ton with her Dancing With The Stars 2011 partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Starting in Los Angeles, the DWTS couple traveled to New York, where they were on The View, and Maksim took Hope to her first russian dinner with friends (which is where that Twitter photo came from). Then it was off to Seattle, where they took in the Sounders Soccer game last Saturday (the photo on the right, also from Twitter).
Now, it’s Kansas City, where C.J. Sapong basically said ‘Forget all that Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Dancing With The Stars stuff, I’m going to go for it’ and did.
But Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s not the only man in Hope’s life, it seems. On the week of September 5th, Adrian Galaviz was once seen dropping Hope off at one rehearsal as Chmerkovskiy looked on. What’s interesting is that Galaviz not only didn’t even wave at the just-arriving Chmerkovskiy, he didn’t even look back at him.
Maybe that’s because Galaviz has a lot to be jealous about. Blogs report that Access Hollywood’s Lisa Rinna thinks Hope and Maksim will be a couple by the end of Dancing With The Stars.
But Lisa didn’t see C.J. Sapong’s rap. Heck. Wonder if Maksim did?
(And then what about NFL linebacker Dhani Jones, who Hope was trying to reach out to a few weeks ago?)
That could change everything. Hope should take that brother out to dinner or at least invite him to Dancing With The Stars. That took real romantic guts. You just don’t see that nowadays. It reminded me of that Tom Cruise “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” scene in Top Gun. This one:
The song he created is rising….
