The Baltimore Ravens have one less thing to worry about. Today, troubled linebacker Rolando McClain retired from his three-year career in the National Football League. McClain played for the Oakland Raiders before he signed with the Ravens on April 12.
Ten days after he signed with the Ravens he got himself into more hot water, he was arrested for disorderly conduct. He is due in court on July 9.
That wasn’t his first arrest, he was arrested before, yet the Ravens were still willing to take a chance on him.
After his last arrest, the Ravens had not decided what to do with him, McClain’s decision made it easy for them; he was placed on the reserve/retired list.
During his short career with the Raiders he had 274 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
This is a sad story. McClain had so much potential, but his off-field antics made him a liability. He was skating on thin ice and now he needs to find work in another field. I hope he gets his life back on track and I wish him the best in his post NFL career.
