Andrew Puzder Withdraws Nomination As Labor Secretary In Trump Administration

Andrew Puzder has withdrawn his nomination as Labor Secretary in the Trump Administration. This news came minutes ago via The Associated Press.

Puzder, the CEO of CKE Restaurants, was beset with the remnants of a critic from his past: his ex-wife’s claims of domestic abuse, which she’s since re-tracted.

That did not stop opponents to the appointment of Mr. Puzder from reintroducing the matter. And for good reason: regardless of the withdrawl of her complaint from years ago, all aspects of his character are up for consideration. That includes an appearance from his now-ex-wife on Oprah to present her abuse story.

It was that presentation, and the tape circulated to members of The U.S. Senate, that caused a number of Republican Senators to reconsider their support.

Puzder withdrew 30 minutes ago.
