Quincy Jones, the famed producer and composer of such classics of jazz like The Soul Boosanova, turns 80 today. In fact, as he shares the exact same birthday as famed actor and friend Michael Caine, the two celebrated in Las Vegas earlier this week.
Mr. Jones has a record 79 Grammy Award nominations, has won 27 Grammys, and has a Grammy Legend Award, given in 1991. Quincy Jones is tied with sound designer Willie D. Burton for the African American with the most Oscar nominations.
