In a weird way Adele has to thank Whitney Houston for placing her on a stage where the 54th Grammy Awards was the most watched since 1984. That’s right: in 27 years.
39.9 million viewers tuned in to watch the performance just less than one day after the untimely and really sad passing of the legendary Whitney Houston.
People tuned in to see how Houston would be celebrated and got a really good show, a great host in LL Cool J (who expertly handled the matter of Houston’s passing with class) and a very deserving winner in Adele. Here’s my video recap:
Adele picked up six grammys, including “Record of the Year”, “Song of the Year” and “Album of the Year” and mostly for her song “Rolling in the Deep”, which made her album “Adele 21.” To this blogger Adele doesn’t have the best voice without the right music and production, but with both, it’s something else.
I was late to the Adele party, but I’m here now. Let’s see where life takes the woman that, in 2007, was picked to be the “next Amy Winehouse.” In a good way.
Stay tuned.
