Mr. Michael Brutsch, according to his real profile, lives in Arlington, TX, has an extensive programming background, and currently works for First Cash Financial Services as an application developer. There, he does the following, or can do:
– Write point-of-sale and back-end accounting applications for financial services company using Perl and MS-SQL
– Experience with police/FBI reporting for pawn stores, ATF regulations for gun sales, and ACH integration
But, as he told Chen in Gawker, at night he basically goes home to his diabetic wife, eats, then gets online to the forum called Reddit and post things there to “rile” people up.
His posts have been racist and sexually offensive. What got him noticed was a beachhead of sorts Michael established in the growing industry of “creepshot” distribution, where someone takes a smart-phone-enabled photo of a woman’s body part and posts it online. It’s called that because the woman never has any idea the photo’s being taken. But Michael Brutsch took those and other photos that were of underage girls and posted them in a section that Reddit made specially called “Jailbait.”
Yikes.
This is what Chen wrote in Gawker:
But Reddit’s laissez-faire attitude towards offensive speech has led to a vast underbelly that rivals anything on the notorious cesspool 4chan. And with Jailbait, Violentacrez decided to create a safe space for people sexually attracted to underage girls to share their photo stashes. I would call these people pedophiles; the Jailbait subreddit called them “ephebophiles.” Jailbait was the online equivalent of systematized street harassment. Users posted snapshots of tween and teenage girls, often in bikinis and skirts. Many of these were lifted from their Facebook accounts and thrown in front of Jailbait’s 20,000 horny subscribers.
Violentacrez and his fellow moderators worked hard to make sure every girl on jailbait was underage, diligently deleting any photos whose subjects seemed older than 16 or 17. Violentacrez himself posted hundreds of photos. Jailbait became one of Reddit’s most popular subreddits, generating millions of pageviews a month. “Jailbait” was for a time the second biggest search term bringing traffic to Reddit, after “Reddit.” Eventually, Jailbait landed on CNN, where Anderson Cooper called out Reddit for hosting it, and Violentacrez for creating it. The ensuing outcry led Reddit administrators to reluctantly ban Jailbait, and all sexually suggestive content featuring minors.
Michael Brutsch Is Upset He’s Outed
In the wake of this outing by Gawker, Michael Brutsch fears he may lose his job. The practice seems to be a release for him, but the fact is, it’s an unhealthy one. In the days before the Internet, a man who liked the female form went out, got a camera, developed a relationship with hot women over the age of 18, and started a magazine like Playboy or Penthouse. It was all straight-forward, complementary of the female form, and a great way to meet women.
If I go out to an event like WonderCon, I always ask the person if I can interview them, then I do. You can meet a lot of great women this way. One of them wanted me to actually make a video of her fishnet stocking costume – so I did.
On top of that, she was great, smart, fun to talk to and hang with. Plus, as of this writing, I’m a single bachelor, so no one gets hurt, and never will.
Or take the famous Robert Crumb, who’s love for the expression of the muscular, strong woman led to an empire and a cult following. Every woman Crumb knew fit his style, and they loved that he drew them. Crumb was open about his love for that kind of female form, and all adult, I should add. And yes, I’m a huge Crumb fan.
In all, I’m pretty upset with a society that has more and more men who seem to hate women. They’re afraid to talk to them, nervous to be around them, can’t tell them something sweet, and worst, take out their anger on them rather than act like gentlemen.
Case in point:
I don’t get people like Michael Brutsch, who hide online and then have a weird itch to make racist and sexist and hurtful posts that make other people feel bad, and then get involved in the kind of activity he should (I hope) detest if he had a teenage girl (he has a son). The spiritual rule is to do on to others as you would have them do on to you.
From that perspective, God seems to have made sure Michael Brutsch was treated in the same way he’s treated others.
Funny how that works, huh?
