John Carter Movie Fail Causes Disney To Turn To Zennie62

This is a wild, “no kidding” moment I have to blog about. I received an interesting message on my YouTube message and here it is for you to see and think about:

John Carter
Hi there Zennie, I hope you are well. I follow your blog now and again. I don’t use twitter but I know you do, and since you have quite a few followers It would be great if you could tweet to them about seening the movie John Carter.
The movie is quite simply fantastic; and the majority of people who go to see it end up loving it and recommending it to their friends. However due to poor marketing it is not getting the box office it deserves, and may therefore not get a sequel, but great word of mouth can still save it.
I know that you like movies and sci-fi and as a sci-fi fan myself it would be a shame if there were no sequels to this film.
The movie is made by Andrew Stanton, the Oscar winning film maker behind Finding Nemo and WALL-E. And the script is co-written by Michael Chabon.

As a film lover and sci-fi fan it would be great if you could use your resources to stand behind and promote this film – there are so few quality sci-fi movies out there.

Thanks.

The trouble is, I, like a lot of other people, didn’t see anything that compelled me to want to spend money to see John Carter. PLUS, as I understand it, John Carter’s a confederate in the Civil War!

C’mon dude!

But that written, its nice that Disney’s rep thinks I have enough juice to make a social media blast about the movie. But this is a sign that Disney’s also serious about trying to save what many have called a “turkey” of a flick.

John Carter, which costs $250 million to make, is tanking at the box office, having taken in just $30.6 million to date. Disney has pulled out all the stops to get people to see it, including contacting me.

Maybe I’ll see it.

Maybe.
