Rebecca Black Drops Out of School

Bullying is a huge problem in schools, and after being bullied over the Internet for her Friday song and video, it is no surprise that school bullying has caused Rebecca Black to drop out of school and become home schooled.

I can’t condemn anyone who wrote a negative comment about Rebecca Black, because I was one of the first who will say that her song and video are terrible. She had a sense of humor about it when she went on Funny-or-Die and did videos for April fool’s day about her song, but it is one thing to be made fun of on the Internet.

It’s easy to understand why Rebecca Black was bullied to the point of needing to be home schooled; she has recorded a new song to try to show that she is more than just an auto tuned 13-year-old (she is now 14), but unfortunately for her it may not be enough.

High school is a rough time, and the only person who would have it worse than Rebecca Black is Jessi Slaughter.

Black told ABC that bullying at school is the reason that she will be home schooled, but don’t feel bad for Black. Black was still in attendance at the Teen Choice Awards and she also made a cameo in Katy Perry’s music video. She even got to perform her song on America’s Got Talent; which is odd, because she only sang one verse from her new original song and then danced and sang to Friday. For someone who wants to move past her Youtube viral hit it’s not very convincing if she’s going to perform that song on national television.

So, it has definitely not been all bad for Rebecca Black, and maybe being home schooled will give her more time to get a real [respectable] career going with music.
