Sharie Shima was Shima, known as Hawaii’s first TV weather forecaster, first was at Honolulu’s ABC affiliate KITV for eight years before moving over to KHNL in 2001. The popular weather forecaster with KHNL TV in Honolulu Hawaii was very sadly laid off in 2009. “Sharie was one of the first to have her official meteorologist seal. I looked up to her,” said former KHNL anchor and weathercaster Angela Keen. “Sharie trained me on how to use the weather software at KHNL. She was one of the most welcoming and supportive people at KHNL. She will be sorely missed.” Eventually, she left Honolulu for Los Angeles. Sharie Shima passed away over the weekend of unknown causes and left behind millions of fans who wondered what happened to her. It’s hard to know why Sharie Shima died and she did not want the cause of death reported, but signs point to cancer; she was just 52 years old. Still, Sharie Shima: RIP.
