If you’ve seen Goodfellas or Law & Order, you know who Paul Sorvino is. But did you know the legendary actor could sing? He did on Friday, November 11th and for one night at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, and to benefit The Asthma Foundation.
Here are videos from his presentation, the first two by Bill Sorvino:
Afterward, Mr. Sorvino received Congressional Recognition, and an American Flog, and you can see this video better with 3D glasses:
And this video was from the red carpet walk before the show, and made by Entertainment & Sports Today:
Though best known for his roles in award winning films such as Goodfellas and Nixon, Paul Sorvino has been honing his skill as a classically trained opera singer since childhood and has performed in various Broadway and regional productions in a career stemming five decades. In 2006 Sorvino starred in The New York State Theater at Lincoln Center’s production of the musical Most Happy Fella, garnering him rave reviews and introducing the world to his superb vocal range. The accomplished tenor has also performed at the Seattle Opera and Met Gala and appeared in his own PBS Special, An Evening with Paul Sorvino.
A number of celebrities came to see Mr. Sorvino perform: his daughter Mira Sorvino, Brett Ratner, Joe Bologna, Ed Marinaro, Louis Lombardi (Sopranos) Vincent Spano, Sheriff Lee Baca, Bruce Davison, the Ferrignos, Renee Taylor, Shirley Jones, Marty Ingels, Oscar nominated song writer Carol Connors, actor Joe Cortese, Robert Forster, Chuck McCann, George Barris, Director Gabriel Bologna, Lainie Kazan, Natasha Alam (True Blood), Alex Limandri (Roswell 2012), Anthony Vitale (Star Trek), Genevieve Mariko Wilson (Turning Japanese), Amin Joseph (The Expendables) and Night Of 100 Stars Oscar Party producer Norby Walters, to name some of the many notabbles.
Stay tuned.
