Detroit Tigers Beat Oakland A’s As Tigers Fan Blocks Catch Of Home Run Ball

The Detroit Tigers beat the Oakland A’s 8 to 6 in ALCS Game 4 Tuesday night, forcing what will be the fifth and final game of the contest at the Oakland Coliseum on Thursday.

The game’s highlight was Tigers Victor Martinez’ home run shot that would have been stopped by Oakland A’s outfielder Josh Reddick had a couple of fans not interfered with the ball. Take a look:

As you can see, had the fans not touched the ball, it would have hit the fence and dropped to Josh Reddick, allowing him to make a play. The result, at best, would have been one run for the Tigers, and not three.

That home run tied the game 3-3, and led the Tigers to an eventual lead the Oakland A’s didn’t catch up to.
