Arlington, Va., October 3, 2012 – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced that the International Gateway TechZone has sold out in its new location, The Venetian, at the 2013 International CES®. Owned and produced by CEA, the 2013 International CES is the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer electronics and is scheduled to run January 8-11, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The International Gateway allows attendees to expand their global networks at CES. The TechZone will feature more than 460 exhibitors in Hall D of The Venetian, showcasing innovative technologies and products from international destinations. Products from China, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan will all be on display in the International Gateway. Due to the sell out in Hall D, International Gateway exhibits will also be found on Level 1 at the Venetian, in the Marco Polo ballroom.

The global reach of CES continues to expand, as the 2012 show drew a record number of international attendees. Industry professionals from 150 countries made up nearly 23 percent of the 156,153 audited audience at the 2012 CES as the show attracted 35,734 attendees from outside the United States.

“The Venetian is a premier destination for the International Gateway at the 2013 CES, putting it in close proximity to CES keynotes, the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase and 30 percent of this year’s TechZones,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, events and conferences for CEA. “The International Gateway will be in great company with the brand new CloudBase3 TechZone, dedicated to the explosive expansion of cloud computing, and Eureka Park returning for its second year 40 percent larger for budding entrepreneurs and startups.”

Other Venetian TechZones include: HigherEdTECH, Kids@Play, Mommy Tech and Sustainable Planet. There will also be 200 high-performance audio exhibitors with live demos in the The Venetian tower suites on levels 29-35.

International travel to Las Vegas has never been easier with the recent opening of Las Vegas McCarran International Airport’s Terminal 3, with seven dedicated international gates. Terminal 3’s Customs and Border Protection area can now process 2,000 international passengers an hour – twice the amount of the former terminal. International attendees requiring a visa to enter the U.S. are encouraged to schedule visa interview appointments early.

Special registration areas for international attendees will be located in the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center (LVCC)’s Central Plaza and The Venetian. International Commerce Centers (ICCs) will be located in room S224 at the LVCC and at The Venetian, Level 1, Marco Polo.

An international reception is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8 at the LVCC in room S222.

The 2013 International CES will feature 3,000 global technology companies unveiling the latest consumer technology products and services in 24 market-specific TechZones across 15 major product categories including the latest in audio, automotive electronics, connected home technologies, digital imaging/photography, electronic gaming, entertainment/content and more.
