This blogger was blessed to be able to stand just about 100 feet away from history, once again this week. President Obama’s speech capped a week of some of the best political oratory in history. Barack had to be good, and he met the challenge, again.
To me, President Obama’s best speech still is the one he gave on race, but this one – his DNC Acceptance Speech – ranks in the conversation with that one, because he made a case not just for his reelection, but for the retention of American compasion and caring.
I’m going to offer a deeper review of his speech, once I’ve heard it again. That’s because between the weird noise flux that one gets standing so close to the podium, photographers talking (one who didn’t seem to like the President and made me uncomfortable, and I said so), and the general din of people, I could not pick up all of his speech, but I could sure as hell feel it.
Stay tuned.
