Yahoo News, perhaps in a attempt to cause anger just a day before the Presidential Election, or the work of a terribly racially insensitive editor, has used an obviously racist photo of President Barack Obama in an article by Chris Moody called “Protesters removed from Obama rally after shouting during speech,” and posted six hours ago from the creation of this blog post.
The photo features President Obama caught just as he’s both exclaiming and trying to reach warm-wishers after Sunday’s Obama Campaign Rally in Cincinnati, Ohio. The picture, took by Chip Somodevilla of Getty Images, wasn’t the only one available from that event. But, again for some wild reason, either Mr. Moody, or a Yahoo News editor, or both people, made the decision to install the picture.
The photo brings up images of blacks made fun of in blackface makeup, and is completely offensive and disrespectful of the sitting President Of The United States.
This blogger called on Yahoo CEO Marissa Meyer to ask, first, what the f– was going on, and to fire the person or persons responsible for this action. There’s no excuse for using an image that someone had to at least think would be insulting to anyone African American, or someone, regardless of skin color, and at least equipped with the proper moral view of what’s right to do in the way of presenting the right image of the President, and of an person.
The only reason the photo was allowed to stay there is someone at Yahoo thought it was funny.
It’s not funny.
Yahoo should remove the photo and apologize to the President Of The United States. ASAP.
