Kristin Cavallari and her partner Mark Ballas performed Beyonce’s Crazy In Love for the Monday night performance. The performers were supposed to pick a song from a year that was memorable, and I remember her from Laguna Beach on MTV and that song makes sense for her and her at the time boyfriend Stephen Colletti.
Kristin did a really great job, but sadly she was the third contestant to be sent home from Dancing With The Stars. It is really surprising, because Kristin seemed to be one of the stronger dancers and even the San Jose Mercury News reports that this decision for elimination stunned the judges:
“Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said Monday night that Kristin, who danced to a Beyonce tune, “did pretty darn good at filling Beyonce’s shoes,” but Kristin and Mark were dealing with the juggernaut of fans supporting both Chaz Bono and his mom, Cher, who Tweeted that she would be in the audience watching if Chaz was put through to Week Four. Talk about tipping the scales!”
Here are the scores from Monday night:
Here’s where the leader board stood after Monday night’s show:
1. Ricki and Derek – 27
2. Chynna and Tony – 26
2. J.R. and Karina – 26
3. Rob and Cheryl – 24
3. Kristin and Mark – 24
3. Hope and Maks – 24
3. David and Kym – 24
4. Carson and Anna – 23
5. Nancy and Tristan – 21
6. Chaz and Lacey – 18
With scores like that it’s a wonder why Kristin was sent home, but it’s all about the votes and it really to some extent turns into a popularity contest, but I would think people would have wanted to see Kristin stay on the show – this decision was a complete surprise to me; I expected Nancy Grace to head home.
