The USA Today is relying on a source who told them that Dwight Howard is finalizing a deal to join the Houston Rockets, and that was just 36 minutes ago. This is what the USA Today’s Sam Amick wrote:
After 20 months of twists and turns in the Dwight Howard saga, a person with knowledge of his decision told USA TODAY Sports he will join the Houston Rockets.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because his decision had not yet been announced.
“The person” must be a player or exec with either The LA Lakers or The Houston Rockets, because that would be the only reason for the USA Today to stick its neck out.
It also takes a way from Dwight Howard, if it’s true, and undoubtedly the leak has to have pissed him off.
And if the deal doesn’t go through, the USA Today, and much of the Twitterverse, will have egg on its face. Indeed, Omer Asik has said he doesn’t want to play with Dwight Howard if he joins the Houston Rockets, according to ESPN.
Golden State has to be disappointed, but then perhaps that’s the other reason it made its own big trade deal for Andre Iguodala.
Stay tuned.
