National Pancake Day Is Today. IHOP Has Free Pancakes

73320_10151291906123152_1472769085_nDid you know that today’s National Pancake Day?

Yes, it is, and it’s a marketing creation of the International House Of Pancakes.

On it’s website, IHOP reports:

Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised more than $10 million to support charities in the communities in which it operates. On February 5, 2013, guests from around the country will once again celebrate National Pancake Day at IHOP and enjoy a free short stack of Buttermilk pancakes*. In return for the free pancakes, guests will be asked to consider leaving a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, or other designated local charities.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for 170 nonprofit children’s hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. When a donation is given, it stays in the community, helping local kids. Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4 billion since 1983, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. The goal for 2013: $3 million.

The International House Of Pancakes has announced that Tuesday, today, is free pancake day, all day.
