Happy 4th Of July Wednesday Hump Day

A Wednesday 4th Of July is just plain weird, mostly because the entire day caught me totally by surprise. Yes, this happens once every seven years, but that’s just long enough to recall the last time, in 2005, my life was complicated by both of my fathers, real and step, and my Mom, all battling some form of cancer. My Mom survived.

Thus, on July 4th in 2005, I was in Georgia with my Mom.

Now, today, I’m waiting to board a United flight back to the San Francisco Bay Area from Orange County Airport. I wound-up here after my friend Julie Buehler took me to the Irrelevant Week Dinner in Newport Beach, then to my hotel room at the La Quinta Resort in Santa Ana. A load of a fun time.

There, I saw my friend famed sports agent Leigh Steinberg, who told me that he was out of bankruptcy as of last Saturday, is close to fully resolving all of his legal issues with Chad Morton, and applied to be reinstated as an NFL Agent. He deserves to be readmitted. Leigh’s done more than his share of good for people, including this blogger. We’re all entitled to a second chance.

Stay tuned.
