Godzilla 2014 will be released in, ah, where’s the damn countdown clock: 12 days, 16 hours, and 52 minutes as of this exact moment in time. If you want to see something that will make you wish the days and hours passed by faster, you’ve come to the right place.

And now that it seems the Amazing Spider-Man’s not living up to the hype, and John Furrier’s shaking in his boots about the dinner at the Balboa Cafe he’s going to owe me because he said Godzilla was going to tank on Twitter.

So here’s something to get you going, and Furrier forming even more flop sweat: five new clips that, put together, reveal one of those old-fashioned epic thrill ride movies that you’re going to want to see again, and again, and again!

The reason, for me, is the obvious level of detail that was brought to the production of this Legendary Pictures / Warner Bros. movie.  If it’s not the San Francisco skyline, it’s the well-worn and weathered back room that Bryan Cranston’s character loses it in.  And if it’s not that, it’s the overall feeling that our real urban living is being trashed and smashed by something way larger than us.  Finally, we have no choice but to get the hell out of the way, and let the “Alpha Predator” do his thing.

Here they are. I warn you, they do give a lot away. But the final clip is totally, what’s the word? Epic!:
