Dr. Jae Son earned a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University and has been an entrepreneur and inventor of medical devices and tactile sensor design equipment for more than 15 years. He established his expertise in advanced sensor technologies while at the Harvard Robotics Laboratory involved in collaborative research with the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab, Yale Vision and Robotics Group, and the Stanford Dexterous Manipulation Laboratory. In addition to his research expertise, his corporate engineering experiences include Hughes Space and Communications Sensors Operations, General Motors, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His innovations include 14 issued and pending patents, most of which are based on applying his own robotic tactile sensors to emulate the human sense of touch.
