The Waffle House, that famous chain of plain restaurants known for chicken and waffles, late night and early morning dining, Southern locations, fights with Kid Rock, and one involving these knuckleheads in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 2011:
What’s fueling its appearance, and this is just this blogger’s guess, is the normal Saturday night crowds, plus the thousands of people out and about after the college football championship games that have been played throughout the South, most notably the SEC Championship Game pitting the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Georgia Bulldogs – an epic battle that Alabama was lucky to win, 32 to 28.
Put all that together, and it spells a lot of people tweeting from various Waffle House locations and even then doing various things at those locations, like that upside-down girl there.
I’m not sure this kind of social media exposure is good for drawing normal folks who just want a decent meal. The reason the Waffle House isn’t harmed by this kind of bad social media exposure is because there are so many outlets, there’s bound to be a nice quiet one, where you can get a good cup of coffee.
I’m serious. Waffle Houses literally dot the landscape in Georgia!
Stay tuned.
