Children’s Hospital Oakland Has Imaging Workshop

On Saturday, July 25th, Children’s Hospital Oakland hosted an amazing workshop that asked participants to come up with a new image for the facility.

The reason is explained at the Children’s Hospital website:

Children’s Hospital Oakland faces significant challenges that threaten our ability to provide specialized care to treat complicated illnesses and health problems. In addition to complying with rigorous state-mandated seismic laws, we are facing a critical shortage of private patient rooms, outdated facilities, and the need to adapt to changing technology. After careful review, we have decided to rebuild and modernize some of our facilities – facilities that serve as a vital part of our community’s healthcare services and programs to children.

Children’s Hospital Oakland had more than 150 community members, patients, staff and physicians in a brainstorming session to create a vision for the future of the hospital. Participants took a virtual trip around the Bay Area and gave their input on important issues that will help promote recovery for children.

“We are motivated by the community’s commitment to our hospital and look forward to working with them to develop plans that will transform Children’s Oakland into a new state-of-the-art facility providing the highest quality care,” said Dr. Bertram Lubin, President and CEO of Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland. “By uniting our mission with the community’s vision, we can work together to build both a community of healthy children, and a facility that serves them.”
