Lady Gaga take a lot of heat for no good reason. YouTube commenters come up with the dumbest takes on her, and so do others on the Internet. But thankfully, they’re reacting to the very powerful music she produces and there’s no better example of that than her latest hit, which I love and could dance to all night long:
Applause!
And while her song’s become one of my personal favorites, there can be no truck with the view that it’s not performed as well as Katy Perry’s ROAR! But that said, the trajectory of interest is about the same for both with Katy’s being more popular, but not by so much that it dwarfs Lady Gaga’s work.

But for what ever reason, she’s not generating as much buzz as she used to. It may be that Miley Cyrus is more multi-media and Katy Perry more conventional. I have to really dig into this, but that said, I’m hooked on Applause!
