Sheldon Adelson Plans To Buy Oakland Raiders For His Kids When Las Vegas Stadium Opens

I have it from a very good source that Sheldon Adelson Plans To Buy Oakland Raiders once the Las Vegas Stadium is complete and open for use.

It was February 26th, 2017 when Las Vegas Sands Founder and CEO Sheldon Adelson announced he was turning away from investing in the Oakland Raiders planned Las Vegas Stadium, and financing much of the teams relocation to Sin City.

Prior to his decision, which happened after Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis and Organization President Marc Badain wrote a proposed lease agreement that did not mention any revenue split for Mr. Adelson (nor did it treat UNLV properly), Adelson was working on a plan with Davis to give the Raiders to his kids. Well, it seemed that was off the table when Adelson publicly announced he was out of the deal.

But what my source tells me is that Adelson listened to Davis’ attempt at an appology, and understood that had he remained involved, the NFL Owners would have rejected his relocation bid because Adelson owns a giant casino company. But with Adelson out of it, the vote went Davis way, 31-1, with Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross the lone “no” vote. So, it was a new day for the Davis / Adelson relationship.

My source told me this: “Adelson cut a deal that he would not stand in the way of Davis’ negotiations, nor do anything to look like he was trying to pull the plug. But this was done on the promise that Davis sell the Raiders to Adelson. Why? Simple: Davis does not have the money to pay for the cost-overruns on the project Adelson said he would pay for. So, since Davis had wanted to turn the Raiders over to Adelson’s children, that intent became the focus of their new secret agreement.”

As I told my source, I figured something was up, because Adelson’s publication, The Las Vegas Review Journal, after about four months of negative press, started to give only positive content – and that pattern continued through today.

Moreover, Adelson was successful in basically paving the way for the Raiders smooth (to this point) political ride. The only thing Adelson did not do was endorse the person he previously gave money to, Clark County Chairman Steve Sisolak, for Nevada Governor. Instead, Adelson went to back Adam Laxalt.

But, with Nevada Senata Bill One’s provision that financial matters with respect to the stadium can be kept out of public view, Adelson can, and my source claims did on one occasion, give Davis money toward the stadium. How much, I do not know.

This news may help to explain why the Raiders, just last week, announced the organization would not be owned directly by the Davis Family, and instead by a holding company. The way the orgnization, this new limited liability corporation, is designed is such that the Raiders can add another partner to it. My source claims that partner will be Adelson.

Stay tuned, because as of now, this is one big Lirpa Sloof. But, just like my other April Fools Day stories, this is not a joke, and based on a conversation that’s happening around Las Vegas. And perhaps the NFL. It may explain why NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell didn’t look excited when he was talking about the progress of the Las Vegas Stadium at the NFL Owners Meeting last week, in Orlando.
