I met Mary Wilson (of The Supremes) and her date Mark Bego at Sunday’s Night Of 100 Stars Oscar Party as part of the 2012 Oscars festivities, and since Wilson’s a famous singer, I had to ask her about the passing of Whitney Houston. “You know, I’ve known Whitney and (her Mom) Cissy for so many years, and it’s such a tragedy. For a person to die so young.”
As it turned out, with our encounter totally unplanned, Mr. Bego’s book on Whitney Houston is being released this week. It’s called Whitney Houston: The Spectacular Rise And Tragic Fall Of The Woman Who’s Voice Inspired A Generation.
That’s a mouthful. Not sure how I feel about a book on Ms. Houston’s fall, but Mark Bego’s got a good reputation for writing about pop-culture stars, having written over 50 books, so the work should be good.
Stay tuned.
