Carolyn Moos, Jason Collins‘ ex-Fiancee, was set to marry the NBA star, but he left her at the alter in 2009. Now, after learning that he’s gay, she’s going to talk about it for Zennie62 on YouTube, Thursday, for a video to air Friday.

Jason Collins, who became the first active sports athlete to come out gay, said that he was once living a lie:

When I was younger I dated women. I even got engaged. I thought I had to live a certain way. I thought I needed to marry a woman and raise kids with her. I kept telling myself the sky was red, but I always knew it was blue.

The woman he was to marry was Carolyn Moos – American model, personal trainer, nutrition consultant and former Stanford and WNBA basketball player.

Reportedly, Jason and Carolyn met at Stanford, and both played basketball for The Cardinal. Their relationship heated up after they graduated. They started a relationship that lasted for eight year, and then he proposed to her, but then called off the wedding in 2009. Still, over that time, they remained friends.

Then he broke the news to her.
