Wow. PSY – GANGNAM STYLE (강남스타일), the music video from Korea, and from a rapper I’ve never heard of, gained over 19 million views. That’s 9 million more views than all of the videos on “AwesomenessTV” which raised $3.5 million in funding for its YouTube Channel.
I have to admit it, I like the song. OK, I can only pick up about 7 percent of what I hear, but I like the entire production. More later on this video, which has gained 1 million views each day since July 30th.
But upon inspection of the stats on the YouTube Trend Blog, this video had a boost: it zoomed to 500,000 views within one day. Since the PSY channel has 119,000 subscribers, and has 39 million views total (same as Zennie62 on YouTube), I have to believe this was boosted in some kind of way. It would be a different story if PSY had something like 2 million subscribers, but that’s not the case.
