Ravens vs. Niners in SuperBowl XLVII
Ravens vs. Niners in SuperBowl XLVII
Terrell Suggs is the man fellow Baltimore Ravens players affectionately call “T-Sizzle.” Arguably the most effective defensive player other than Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs was talkative and talking up a storm after the Ravens 34 to 31 win over The San Francisco 49ers.

Here’s Mr Suggs:

RAVENS LB TERRELL SUGGS

(on how he is feeling after the win) “All praise and glory go to the most highest God. God is great. For the whole world doubters, every game we’ve been the underdogs and every game we’ve won. Praising all lorry to God. Baltimore, charm city, we’ve brought it home.”

(on how it feels to win this game for teammate LB Ray Lewis) “Ultimate cake. There will never be another leader like him and we sent him out like his brothers and his legacy will go untainted.”

(on what was going through his mind while the 49ers were trying to make a comeback) “It was nothing new for us. We’re in those types of battles. We just stayed together. We had to win four plays, all we did had to do was win one quarter, just one of those plays and we won the last four.”

(on if the power outage affected the team at all) “No, it didn’t affect us. We’re a close knit group, we were all year and we’ve got it now.”

(on the transition that will happen with the Ravens after Ray Lewis retires) “We’re not going to discuss that right now. There will always be one Ravens defense, and when you think of the Baltimore Ravens, you think of Ray Lewis. When you think of the Baltimore Colts, you think of ‘Johnny U’ (John Unitas). When you think of the New England Patriots, you think of Tom Brady. When you think of the Indianapolis Colts, even with (Andrew Luck), you’re always going to remember Peyton Manning. When you think of the Baltimore Ravens, (you’ll think) of Ray Lewis.”

(on the comeback by the Niners) “Well, (Colin Kaepernick) started making some throws that we didn’t think he could make. He started making plays with his arm. We thought if we made him throw the ball, they’d have a hard time of beating us, but he got going, he got in a rhythm, and the kid’s special. I take my hat off to him. The kid can play, and I hate quarterbacks.”

(on the goal-line stand) “The kid’s (Kaepernick) is a phenomenal quaraterback, and we weren’t going to let him bring in there. We were going to make him do it with his arm. He’s a phenomenal quarterback, and he proved that he could make some plays with his arms, and he made some throws and he had some runs.”

(on if he considers the Ravens championship a miracle) “There’s only one man in the business of miracles. There’s only one man, and that’s Jesus Christ. Think about everything we’ve been through. On defense, we had two guys that started every game, but there’s only one man in the business of miracles, and that’s Jesus Christ. We’re a praying team; we’re a team of faith, and all of us pray with honor and glory to God.”

(on the game becoming closer and needing a defensive stand) “Oh yeah, we made more stops. We didn’t like for it to have to come on the last play, the fourth-and-goal, but that’s how it had to be. That’s how it had to be done, and if it had happened any other way. The Niners were a team that had more momentum, but all we needed to do was (win) one play, one stop.”

(on the play of quarterback Joe Flacco) “I told you. That’s my quarterback. The boy’s been doing it. He did it all in the playoffs, and his play is the reason we are champions.”
