Scott Walker Recall Win, A Win For President Obama? Yep.

What’s funny about my assertion is how it pisses off couch potato conservatives for whom reading data is something that makes their heads hurt. But the fact is that aside from outspending Tom Barrett by a factor of 8 to 1, Governor Scott Walker also ran to avoid a recall by claiming Wisconsin’s economy was improving with him in charge, and according to ABC News Political Director Amy Walter, Wisconsin voters agreed: “The most important number I saw last night was this: 53 percent of voters in Wisconsin approved of the way that Walker has created jobs in the state.”

In doing that, Scott Walter helped President Barack Obama because it’s the Obama-lead, Economic Stimulus-driven American recovery that the embattled Governor who used ass-hole techniques to diss teachers and firefighters ultimately had to rest on to even hope to win last night.

The little known but well-documented fact is that Wisconsin got 2.14 billion in stimulus funds in 2009, and that catapulted the state to 21st in rankings of “share of federal funds per capita” – so the stage was set for an influx of cash to help Wisconsin’s economy even before Scott Walker was elected in 2010.

It’s no wonder Governor Walker presented Obama with a jersey last February. It wasn’t just a welcome gift, it was a thank you gift. Obama basically saved Walker’s job – coming in and campaigning against him would have been stupid for Obama to do because he would have been running against his own economic record, and I think the President knows that.

It’s important to remember this: Obama outpolled Mitt Romney last night in Wisconsin, and did so by 11 points. To assume this win is bad for President Obama is a mistake only a couch potato conservative can make. Thinking people know better.

Stay tuned.
